Meet Hlengiwe Mbuyazi an aspiring young female who is on the rise to becoming a qualified artisan. The 24-year-old hails from Pongola, KZN. Her journey at Majuba TVET College began at Majuba Technology Centre Campus where she completed her NC(V)Level 4 Engineering and Related Design course, and is now currently completing an Apprenticeship in Welding (3 years) at the Newcastle Training Centre.

Hlengiwe enjoys getting her head stuck in a good read, as well as listening to music. These hobbies help her unwind from a stressful day. “NTC is a great place to meet up with your peers, and there are so many opportunities that are available. These include, amongst other, the World Skills Competition in which I took part in. I had the extreme honour of representing Majuba TVET College at a National Level, where I scooped 2^nd place in the Welding category,” says the enthusiastic Hlengiwe. “I had a privilege of being exposed to advanced world class welding training, sponsored by the South African Institute of Welding (SAIW).” she added.

The young lass is certain she will achieve her goals of becoming a qualified Welder, running her own workshop and creating job opportunities for other upcoming welders.
