Meet one of our ITB Student
The Hospitality sector in South Africa had negatively been impacted from the coronavirus pandemic, from gradual restrictions leading to the lockdown of hotels and restaurants. As the industry slowly awakens, hospitality students now have the opportunity to shape its future.
Meet Simphiwe Mavuso a thriving 25-year-old whose goal is to contribute positively towards the Hospitality Industry. The young upcoming chef hails from Nquthu and is currently studying Hospitality (Level 3) at the IT and Business Campus in Newcastle, KZN.
Simphiwe looks forward to attending classes at the IT and Business campus because of the professionalism she receives from the Lecturers and the exposure to the fully fitted Industrial kitchen with its modern equipment and machinery. During her free time she enjoys playing netball, socializing and of course cooking.
“Hospitality is such a diverse industry and there are so many different opportunities to dive into, one being the restaurant services. Upon completion of my studies and with future experience I one-day wish to open my own Restaurant and later further my studies into becoming a registered Dietician.” States Simphiwe.
